Pizza Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 7 oz. can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tsp dried oregano, or marjoram
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • Salt to taste
  • Canned peppers to taste

Directions

Mise en place

  • Peel and crush garlic.
  • Measure out all the ingredients.

Prepare

  • Over medium heat, heat oil in a saucepan until hot.
  • Add all ingredients, cover, and bring to a boil.
  • Uncover and lower heat. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes.
  • Allow to cool before spreading on pizza dough.

Serve and enjoy!

CHEF’S TIP:
If you prefer to use fresh herbs, substitute 3 times the amount of fresh herbs for the dried herbs. For example, instead of 1 tsp dried oregano, use 3 tsp (3 tsp=1 Tbsp) fresh oregano.
