Arrange bread slices on the prepared baking tray.
Rub each slice with the garlic clove.
Place in the broiler and broil on medium until lightly browned.
Blanch peas in a large saucepan of boiling salted water until just tender, about 2 minutes for fresh peas and 1 minute for frozen.
Drain peas and transfer to a bowl.
Season with salt and olive oil.
Mash with a fork.
Spread about 1 tablespoon of mixture over each piece of toast.
Garnish with parmesan, mint, and a few drops of balsamic vinegar.
