Allison Liefer, Director of National Operations, holds a B.S. in Communications
from Northwestern University, an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the
University of Michigan and a L' Art de la Patisserie certificate from the
French Pastry School. Allison has been with Common Threads for three years,
joining the organization after teaching poetry and writing to elementary and
college students, working in book publishing, and cooking in two Chicago
restaurant kitchens. She is pursuing a Certificate of Professional Achievement
through the Northwestern Kellogg School of Nonprofit Management. Allison
is responsible for overseeing program expansion; launching and developing new
national program sites; foundation relations; and strategic collaborations.
