Chef Instructors
Are you a trained cook? Do you have teaching experience? Do you enjoy working with children? We are seeking part time Chef Instructors to teach hands-on classes to 8-12 year olds during our Fall-Winter & Winter-Spring 2009-2010 sessions (begins Sept. 09). Average time commitment is 5-6 hours/day, one day/week for 12 weeks each session (24 weeks/year), plus training & staff meetings. Applicants must have culinary school or food industry experience, must be able to commit to the same (p.m) schedule each week, and should bring joy into the kitchen--you love working with kids and it shows!

Internships
Common Threads has unpaid internships available throughout the year. Candidates must be a college sophomore or higher and willing to commit 2 days per week for a 6 month term. This internship is perfect for candidates interested in community development, culinary arts, working with children and seeing how a small non-profit functions. Responsibilities can include: creating and updating curriculum and programming materials, parent and volunteer outreach, assisting with development and fundraising, participating in after-school cooking classes or Common Threads Summer Camp and general administrative tasks such as running errands, copies and mailings.
