Our afterschool programming is free for students who participate in the free or discounted lunch program or Medicaid.

During the 2008 programming year, Common Threads will serve approximately 1,000 students drawn primarily from a number of low-income neighborhoods in Chicago.

Partner Organizations


Common Threads partners with public schools, health educators, neighborhood groups, and community organizations that serve low-income and at-risk youth. We offer our classes to students enrolled in these programs or schools, as well as to unaffiliated neighborhood children.
